“ What a treat - couldn't get nicer proprietors - Jim and Charlotte - hospitable, entertaining, knowledgable and extremely welcoming - going out of their way to welcome their guests and locals alike. The mexican food was delicious and the chief very accommodating, as were the owners. The mulled wine is to die for and the bar is atmospheric and cosy with couches, intimate or group dining available and of course that open fire blazing in the corner - as warm as the welcome I received when I walked in the door. While the accommodation is dated and slightly tired looking, it means the pricing is very reasonable yet the cleanliness can't be faulted. And I can tell they have great plans for that side of things having already run top end establishments in the past. True kiwi charm, warm hospitality, friendly, accommodating with a little bit of an upmarket feel - especially in the dining and bar area. Overall a great experience, will definitely be back for mulled wine and dinner after a long, cold day on the slopes. Definitely worth a visit! ”
“ Just had a great meal at this pub. Having read the reviews I wonder if I am in the same place. It was quiet when we visited (start of summer). The meals came quickly. They left us wanting nothing after as we were full. I think the price was on par with other places maybe $2 more. Very tasty. We would definitely eat here again. The bar staff were friendly and came over to our table to talk to us. Obviously if they are busy this probably would not have happened. . ”
